My blacksmith skills began in the late 1970s as a teenager working summers at a well established iron shop. During those high school years, I also trained as a machinist. Following graduation and three years serving my country with the United States Marine Corps, I returned to employment with my former job and continued to hone my iron working skills. By 1987, I was serving as Master Blacksmith of that establishment.
In 1987, I founded Rock Ridge Forge. On January 1, 2018, we became Rock Ridge Forge LLC. The current shop building was constructed in 1990, and my reputation for providing reasonably priced merchandise of uncompromising workmanship continued to grow in north-central Maryland and southern Pennsylvania. An addition to the shop was built in 2009 to accomodate large pieces requiring sandblasting prior to restoration and renovation. During 2012, a solar panel system was added, enabling the shop to provide its own energy for operation.
Since 1996, I have devoted my time and energy exclusively to Rock Ridge Forge LLC. Custom items made to your specifications can be fabricated using drawings, photographs, samples, or books depicting wrought iron designs. Brass, copper, and stainless steel custom work is also available. My knowledge and expertise are at your disposal. I am thankful for the opportunity to meet the growing need for custom architectural and ornamental ironwork in the region and look forward to serving clientele in the future. Your inquiry is welcome.
